Audio Merge & Split is a tool for Mac OS 10.8 or later that converts audio files into different file formats, and also merges and splits them. This simple tool supports multiple input media and output audio formats.

The tool, as aforementioned, supports various media formats, which includes Apple Lossless, ac3, aac, aiff, aif, caf, cda, flac, m4a, mp3, mp2, and wma, among many others. Most of these audio file types are supported during audio output too. Audio Merge & Split also lets you choose appropriate audio encoders, and customize ideal audio parameters of bit rate, sample and channel. Such audio file conversion helps meet particular requirements. For instance, audio file types such as *.wav and *.snd can be converted with specialized formats like adpcm ima, adpcm, 24 bits, 16 bit, etc.

The tool also lets you customize the ring tones of your phone. It does so by trimming or splitting the input audio stream. This means you may extract any audio portion from pretty much all audio and video formats by simply stating the start and end time. The software also lets you see all information of an original media file, which includes all audio data (sample rate, encoder, bit rate, language, channel), all video data (resolution, encoder, aspect ratio, bit rate), and all subtitle data (language, encoder). There is also a built-in media player that can play files in different formats.
